Public source release after launch
Orbit is shipping as a polished direct download first. The source release is planned after the initial launch window, once the install flow, docs, and public repo surfaces are fully settled.
What happens next
The app source is being kept private for a short launch window while real users install, test, and stress the first packaged release. After that, the public repo opens with cleaner docs, issues, and contribution surfaces.

Orbit is independent and built to last. If it makes you more productive, help keep the project sustainable.
What will open later
SwiftUI + AppKit
Native macOS app with menu bar panel, overlay cursor, HUD, and push-to-talk.
Codex Runtime
Bundled OpenAI Codex for session management, browser control, and tool execution.
Launch website
The marketing site is already live, and the public source package will follow after the first launch wave settles.
Contributing
The goal is still a strong public repo: clear docs, issues that make sense, a trustworthy security story, and a source release that people can actually use. This page will switch over the moment that repo goes live.
During the launch window
For now, the public surface is the signed installer and the release notes. If you want updates when the source drops, follow the project on X or support it on GitHub Sponsors.
